Post-Doctoral Associate - Molecular Medicine

University of MinnesotaMinneapolis, MN

About The Position

The laboratory of Curtis Hughey in the Division of Molecular Medicine, Department of Medicine aims to identify pathways within complex metabolic networks that can be used for early identification of disease or targeted to prevent or treat metabolic diseases. To accomplish this aim, studies combine the use of stable isotopes, mass spectrometry, and computational modeling to quantify in vivo metabolic fluxes in genetically-engineered mice. Under the direction of Curtis Hughey, the postdoctoral associate will work on projects focused on gaining a mechanistic understanding of the impact of liver ketogenesis and regular exercise on the pathological progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. About the Department The Division of Molecular Medicine is a research-oriented division within the Department of Department of Medicine. Faculty members utilize physiological and molecular approaches to better understand and improve the health of individuals and communities. A particular focus of the division is the use of genetically-engineered mouse models to investigate human metabolic diseases.
