A postdoctoral associate position is available in the group of Dr. Eric Muir at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Department of Radiology and the Biomedical Research Imaging Center. The successful candidate will develop and optimize advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques at 3T and 7T for imaging the visual system, including the retina, optic nerve, or brain. MRI techniques to assess blood flow, function, diffusion, and CSF flow are of particular interest. The candidate will also develop or improve software for the analysis of these unique MRI data, such as object detection, motion correction, and denoising. These novel MRI tools will be applied to patients with various eye and vision disorders to better understand pathophysiology across the visual system.
