About The Position

The O’Brien lab has an open position for a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the influence of neuro-vascular and environmental factors on kidney development and disease outcomes. The lab focuses on understanding how cellular crosstalk and signaling influences developmental processes and how perturbations (genetic or environmental) alter cellular programs. Additionally, we are investigating cellular crosstalk and programs that influence kidney repair post-injury. We utilize a combination of genetic mouse models and iPSC-derived kidney organoids for our studies along with physiological and molecular analyses including advanced imaging techniques.

Requirements

  • Experience with cell culture (iPSC cell culture expertise preferred)
  • in vitro differentiations such as kidney organoid generation
  • familiarity with kidney biology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with microscopy
  • image analysis
  • rodent models (rat or mouse)
