About The Position
The Post-Baccalaureate Researcher Program ( www.hss.edu/post-baccalaureate-training-program.asp ) offers more formal training in science and opportunities to present research at conferences and write manuscripts for publication, in preparation for graduate or medical school. A two-year commitment is required. T he trainee will develop an independent project and the program offers opportunities to develop strong translational research experience relevant for individuals interested in furthering their career by pursuing medical school or other clinical training. The Postbacc Fellow will work in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Donlin ( https://www.donlinlab.com ) which maintains a strong focus on translational research, using patient samples to identify pathologic features of autoimmune conditions and to diagnose musculoskeletal infections using cutting-edge genome-wide sequencing technologies. https://www.hss.edu/research-staff_donlin-laura.asp
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical field with coursework in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, computational biology.
- Prefer experience working in a research lab.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong written and communication skills
- Proficient use of computers and software, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
