At Associated Bank the Portfolio Manager – Corporate Banking will support the growth and management of commercial banking relationships by analyzing credit opportunities and maintaining portfolio quality. This role plays a key part in underwriting, client relationship support, and identifying growth opportunities across banking products. You’ll gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in commercial credit and client management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or related field
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience with complex credit analysis
  • 1+ years of sales or client relationship experience
  • Formal credit training
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation or progress toward certification

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements to evaluate loan requests and recommend appropriate credit structures
  • Manage portfolio risk by monitoring client performance and ensuring compliance with credit policies
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to support client needs and strengthen relationships
  • Drive portfolio growth through cross-selling banking products and services
  • Oversee loan renewals, repayment activity, and ongoing credit quality
  • Support due diligence and prepare credit memos for new and existing relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless client service and solutions
