About The Position

Under limited supervision will manage and service a portfolio of assigned commercial loans ensuring overall portfolio performance and asset quality remains strong including timely covenant testing and completion of periodic annual reviews. The portfolio manager will ensure early identification of risk in the credit through review of gathered documentation. Analyzes financial statements, industry risks, collateral, credit structure for possible deterioration in the overall credit risk profile of the borrower. The Portfolio Manager II will be expected to review loan documents comparing them to the approved CAM to ensure loan documents are executed in accordance with the CAM and loan policy. A Portfolio Manager II, under supervision of a Portfolio Manager III or Supervisor will make appropriate recommendation for an upgrade or downgrade to ensure timely risk rating of the credit. Prepare CAR/Watch Reports for credits that are risk rated Pass Watch, participate in CAR/Watch meeting(s). Tests covenants of assigned credits to ensure adherence with financial covenants requirements included in the loan documents. A Portfolio Manager II, under limited supervision of a Portfolio Manager III or Supervisor, will review and make recommendation for resolution of covenant violations or needed modifications/forbearance including oversite and review of necessary documentation. The Portfolio Manager II is expected to manage assigned commercial loan portfolio exceptions through customer contact to ensure delivery of financial statements, tax returns and other required financial information under the loan agreement and ongoing servicing of the credit. Review and ensure documents are uploaded to the document repository and ensure ticklers are appropriately maintained. Responsible, as directed for monitoring and collection of delinquent loans in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Coordinates through closing or with legal counsel the preparation legal notifications to borrower including notification of events of default, forbearance agreements, modifications etc. Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • A Minimum of four (4) years of commercial portfolio management or commercial credit underwriting or six (6) year’s comparable combination of portfolio management, underwriting, and loan administration experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience with commercial loans and underwriting may meet qualifications.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, plus a good understanding of the Internet environment.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, and presentational skills.
  • Able to work with all levels of management.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to meet and manage critical deadlines and assist with project management.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Take initiative and make independent decisions in the best interest of the Credit Union and Member.
