About The Position

Under the direction of the Corporate Banking Manager or the direct Relationship Manager, acts as the Corporate Banking Relationship Manager’s (RM) direct liaison to the client, agent bank, and/or other participating banks to facilitate, coordinate and service all new and existing credit relationships. This position monitors the credit quality of existing credit relationships and works closely with the Corporate Banking Service Representative (CBSR) to ensure that all administrative functions related to existing credit relationships are completed in a timely and accurate manner. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Commerce, or related area
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of business experience, with 5 years of commercial credit or commercial lending experience.
  • Documented Experience in the following areas: Use of analytical and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of financial statement analysis, including cash flow lending. Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills with ability to express complex ideas in concise and simple terms. Able to make critical decisions independently. Possesses strong networking and business development skills. Has solid product knowledge and business acumen. Built strong working relationships and partnerships across the organization with a collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software or systems.
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation and commute as required.

Responsibilities

  • (30%) Assigned a medium to large portfolio of client relationships representing moderate to high complexity within the Corporate Banking Group. Conducts regular portfolio reviews to assess overall risk and performance. Reviews financial statements, compliance certificates / covenant compliance, and current industry, marketplace and competitive conditions. Assists in the validation of risk rating. Analyzes cash flow projections and formulates alternative risk scenarios; performs other due diligence as necessary. Follows-up for any missing information directly with the client and/or agent bank.
  • (25%) Prepares moderate to complex Credit Approval Memorandum (CAM) packages and written summaries, including forward-looking acceptability for Credit Write-up. Works closely with the RM to ensure that structures, credit covenants, and/or credit facilities proposed conform to Bank policies and makes recommendations for improvements. Communicates with RM, clients and/or agent banks to obtain information. Confirms the accuracy of the content of these documents. Obtains approvals from appropriate bank officer. Ensures that the RM and other appropriate parties are informed about the current status of credit transactions.
  • (20%) Maintains and strengthens relationships with new and existing clients. As a key point of contact for client inquiries and service needs, the PMO communicates directly with clients, agent banks or other participating banks to obtain information under some supervision of the Senior PMO, Team Leader, or RM. Identifies opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the portfolio. Collaborates with other Bank partners and business units to cross-sell products and services. Participates in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • (10%) Facilitates documentation process with external attorney and/or Bankoh Loan Center (BLC). Prepares advisement letter for RM, if appropriate; Orders documents from external attorney and/or BLC for timely delivery to client. Completes review of documents to ensure accuracy as approved, prior to obtaining client’s signature(s). Assists the RM in loan closing with client. With the assistance of the CBSR, ensures that BLC receives all required documents to book the credit transaction. Obtains approval for waivers or follows up for missing, incomplete or other documentation discrepancies.
  • (5%) Performs deal screens with Wholesale Credit and RM. Reviews daily overdraft reports and recommends appropriate disposition for the overdraft; communicates with client and RM as necessary.
  • (5%) Provides guidance and support to junior team members. Fosters a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Shares any best practices and industry knowledge with the team.
  • (5%) Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. Will be working with conventional and/or governmental guidelines using bank software and systems as well as automated underwriting system (DU, LPS, etc).
