Job Summary You lead related programs that meet the needs of your customer set by developing solutions to customer problems, driving capture efforts to bring in business, and executing the resulting programs while managing employees and other leaders who perform Program Management activities. You lead and mentor program managers, mission engineers, and chief engineers, develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures, acquire resources for department activities, and provide technical management of suppliers along with oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. You develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners, establish Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) goals and improvement plans, make the most of available resources to meet customers’ needs, and collaborate with Millennium’s other portfolio managers to lead Millennium into the future.

Requirements

  • This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • 10+ years' experience in space industry programs
  • 2+ years’ experience as a program or business manager with interface responsibilities to United States Government customers
  • 5+ years' experience as a project leader delivering space flight hardware systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams, leadership, customers, and external partners to drive alignment and successfully achieve program objectives
  • Leverage business and organizational knowledge to support strategic decision-making by understanding company operations, policies, industry trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Identify and implement technology-enabled process improvements that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and overall program performance
  • Integrate customer and market insights into program planning by monitoring competitive activity, customer priorities, and emerging technology trends that may impact strategy and execution
  • Lead program and project execution by defining scope, developing project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with program objectives
  • Support organizational effectiveness and change initiatives by applying organizational development principles to improve processes, manage change, and enhance team performance
  • Proactively manage program risks, issues, and opportunities by identifying potential impacts across technical, cost, and schedule areas; developing mitigation and resolution plans; and tracking progress through established program management tools and metrics
  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated program schedules, ensuring alignment across teams, milestones, and deliverables while identifying schedule risks and implementing corrective actions when needed
  • Apply systems thinking to evaluate interdependencies across program elements, anticipate downstream impacts of decisions, and implement solutions that optimize overall program performance
  • Own profit and loss (P&L) performance for assigned programs, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, cost management, and financial reporting. Monitor financial performance through variance analysis and implement corrective actions to protect revenue, margins, and cash flow
