About The Position

The Strategic Finance team partners with business leaders to drive portfolio insights, budgeting and forecasting, competitor intelligence, and broader strategic initiatives. You will analyze portfolio performance, evaluate economic and credit trends, build analytical models, and drive high-impact analyses on portfolio performance that redefine the company’s traditional approach to portfolio management. This work will inform lending strategy, pricing, portfolio optimization, and provide enhanced reporting to Executive Management, the Board of Directors, and external parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent combination of education and job experience
  • 5 years of professional experience in financial analysis, credit risk management, portfolio management and/or data analytics at financial services companies
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and modeling with demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses and build/maintain sophisticated financial models
  • High degree of competence with data management & manipulation as well as financial & cashflow modeling
  • High-level strategic thinking and problem solving with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with a diverse, global team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail, a high degree of organization and a strong sense of accountability
  • Must have strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with using programming languages (R/Python, for example) to manage and analyze data with a strong desire to further develop these skills required
  • This is a hybrid position with the expectation of reporting to the NY office on a regular basis (2 to 3 days a week, on average)

Responsibilities

  • Using quantitative models and business logic, you will help define standard reporting for management and leverage portfolio analytics to generate insights on portfolio performance, borrower behavior, and inform changes to our repayment expectations
  • Monitor macroeconomic and credit conditions (industry dynamics, consumer strength, macro-indicators) and translate them into actionable portfolio recommendations
  • Work as part of the Strategic Finance team to drive and improve short- and long-term financial forecasting as well as coordinate scenario analyses under varying economic environments
  • Monitor delinquency migration, charge-offs, recoveries, and loss trends to help identify emerging risks and portfolio inflection points
  • Conduct competitor and market intelligence, assessing shifts in industry dynamics, assessing pricing, loss, and product strategy across competitors to influence portfolio and strategic decisions
  • Perform statistical analysis to develop portfolio insights and outlook, and integrate with firmwide modeling assumptions
  • Leverage proprietary data that supports a data-driven approach to portfolio management, partnering with engineering and data teams to develop and refine proprietary models and tools
  • Advance insight into the drivers of unit economics to inform optimal pricing, yield and margin targets based on relative risk/reward
  • Work closely with the FP&A, Treasury, Accounting and Risk Management teams to provide real-time performance feedback (variance analyses), set financial goals, inform decision-making and improve reporting
  • Inspire and contribute to a motivating work environment through thought-leadership, respectful challenge and healthy debate
  • Execute and deliver presentations to the Board of Directors, Executive Management and external parties
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by management

  • Competitive Base Salary Range of $62,800-$100,800 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
