About The Position

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the sales lot, front line vehicle displays as well as showroom vehicle displays. The porter maintains vehicle readiness, so our sales department has a full array of vehicles to present to customers. Some administrative work is an important part of this role as well, such as checking in new cars when they arrive, making sure that the information on the manifest matches the vehicle, facilitating parking spaces for the cars, and management of keys in our automated key track system.

  • Complies with all attendance policies
  • High school education or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clean driving record
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer services skills, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff though-out the organization required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license from a local state and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles a plus
  • Good Customer Service skills
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintain the Service Department parking area to allow customers easy access to the Service area.
  • Ensure all vehicles are secure and locked each night.
  • Management of over two hundred vehicles on multiple lots of inventories.
  • Ensuring the safety of the lots/vehicles.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions as needed.
  • Checking in new cars when they arrive, making sure that the information on the manifest matches the vehicle, facilitating parking spaces for the cars, and management of keys in our automated system.
  • Assess any damage to lot vehicles
  • Ensure the lot is as organized as possible so that it is easy to navigate.
  • Locking gates after hours.
  • General lot maintenance
  • Maintain vehicle readiness so our sales department has a full array of vehicles to present to our customers.
