About The Position

The Porter Department provides a safe and friendly environment for guests and team members by establishing and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas of the casino in compliance with departmental policies and procedures. This position oversees the department which includes assigning daily cleaning duties and completing administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Flexible availability; able to work any shifts including occasional short notice shifts.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more on a cart, dolly or two-wheeler; or while operating vacuum/shampooer.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature and air quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the porter team members in compliance with casino and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Gives clear concise instructions to team members.
  • Leads by example and handles any problem that may arise.
  • Completes a daily shift report making note of any absenteeism, tardiness or irregularities
  • Inspects all areas of the casino, public areas, and team member areas to ensure that assigned duties and tasks are completed in a timely and acceptable manner.
  • Works closely with other departments and reports any unresolved issues or concerns.
  • Assists guests with any questions or requests they may have.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies; reporting to Porter Manager of any shortages or malfunction.
  • Assists and offers input regarding team member performance issues including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Assists with the interviewing, hiring, and training of team members.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
