About The Position

An opening currently exists for on Onsite Operator at the Houston Division of McElroy Metal. This position will operate the portable roll-forming and curving equipment to produce panels in accordance to customer requirements. This position will also be required to travel to jobsites located throughout the U.S., using a company provided vehicle and towing a trailer. This is a non-exempt position reports to the Operations Manager. Hours 7:30 am – 4:00 pm M-F

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have excellent appearance and communication skills.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining roll-forming equipment.
Valid license and up-to-date DOT physical and drug screen.
Willingness to travel to jobsites in the U.S., often requiring multiple days on the job.
Must have ability to problem solve and work independently.

Nice To Haves

Metal building or construction related experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Sets up, operates and maintains portable rollformer, curver, and taper machines. This also includes secondary equipment, such as the Hot Melt unit, generator, and air compressor.
Travel to site locations using company truck and trailer.
Adjusts onsite related equipment to properly produce the required product, including making tooling changes and adjustments.
Performs all necessary QA checks to ensure correct specifications.
Will train a back-up operator technician as necessary.
