Sampson County EMS is actively seeking two dedicated paramedics to implement and develop a community-based PORT Paramedic program to respond to substance abuse calls and potentially mental health crisis calls within the County. Working independently to navigate between patients and community resources, these key employees will develop and implement care and treatment plans specific to patient needs and make appropriate referrals to support positive outcomes. Employees must be highly motivated and able to collaborate with law enforcement and community leaders to educate and participate in community outreach efforts. Work is divided into alternating 12-hour daytime shifts working 36 hours one week followed by 48 hours the next week with the expectation of working occasional extra shifts on the 911 ambulances.
