About The Position

This 6-week summer internship at Jefferson Health offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive exposure to population health principles and practices in a dynamic healthcare environment. As an intern, you'll engage in both theoretical learning and practical applications while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

  • Critical thinking abilities to connect theoretical concepts to practical applications
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Students in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Participate in weekly educational sessions with subject matter experts
  • Engage in operational meetings to observe population health principles in action
  • Shadow healthcare professionals in various settings (street medicine, refugee health, post-acute care)
  • Complete assigned self-directed learning modules through Jefferson's educational platforms
  • Analyze health data and quality metrics using various dashboard tools
  • Explore social determinants of health through community outreach experiences
  • Develop and present a capstone project addressing a population health challenge
