About The Position
SHHC is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Population Health team. The MA will play a key role in supporting quality initiatives, patient outreach, care coordination, and clinical operations. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, pre-visit planning, participating in huddles, managing patient care gaps, and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality services. This position reports to both Squirrel Hill and Brentwood office locations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (certification preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- CPR certification required.
- All recommended CDC vaccines required, including the annual flu vaccine

Responsibilities
- Schedule follow-up appointments, immunizations, and in-house testing.
- Conduct pre-visit planning and identify gaps in care.
- Participate in daily huddles and share key patient data.
- Outreach patients for preventive screenings and track progress.
- Manage inbox tasks, relay lab results, and address patient inquiries.
- Collaborate with providers, RNs, and other SHHC teams to support care plans.
