About The Position

The Population Health Analyst supports the Population Health team by analyzing patient care data to identify gaps in care, improve health outcomes, and inform population health strategies.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills and interest in quantitative research and analysis required; must have the ability to work with large, complex, & often incomplete data sets; create creative and scalable cross-team standardized tools and reports; and utilize Index / Match, XLOOKUP, and other advanced formulas, pivot tables, and basic macros.
  • Advanced Microsoft Power BU experience preferred.
  • Advanced eCW EHR experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Health Care, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.
  • One to Two years of experience in role preferred.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for limited periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to enter data into a computer via a keyboard.
  • Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to grasp and hold up to 30 lbs.

  • Prefer candidates with management / strategy consulting, healthcare strategy, and/or healthcare program and project management backgrounds.
  • Experience with value-based care, accountable care organizations, risk stratification / risk adjustment, and/or Medicare Advantage preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and interprets healthcare data to improve the health outcomes of a population.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform strategic decisions and enhance healthcare delivery.
  • Utilizes data analysis software, healthcare systems, statistical methods, and population health principles to contribute to developing key performance indicators and measurements for population health management.
  • Develops and maintains data models, databases, and visualization tools to support population health analytics.
  • Collects, organizes, and studies healthcare data from various sources to support initiatives that reduce costs and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Identifies the effectiveness of population health initiatives and gaps in current healthcare practices and presents solutions.
  • Remains cognizant of industry trends and regulatory requirements related to population health management.
  • Assures compliance with privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, in handling healthcare information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
