About The Position

Join our team as a Pool Server for the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club! The Club, located at Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara, is one of the most elite social clubs in the world. As part of the Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts portfolio, it’s sister properties include Montecito Club, San Ysidro Ranch, Four Seasons Resort the Biltmore Santa Barbara, Sandpiper Golf Club, Four Seasons New York and Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Los Cabos, Mexico. The Club’s distinction is driven by hiring and growing the very best associates available, who with the proper, enthusiastic attitude and attention to detail, take pride in their own efforts as well as the efforts from the team, and ensure members and their guest are provided with an exceptional experience. This position is compensated at $16.00/hr and eligible for The Coral Casino Tip Pool.

Requirements

  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills with solid follow through.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box”; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests’ needs.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by the rules of the Employee Handbook.
  • Possesses basic math skills.
  • Honest, dependable, and aligned with the Club’s service standards.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a lead server or server in a high-end restaurant or private club setting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • Possess Food Handlers/Serve Safe certificate and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training certificate as required by law
  • Frequently stands/walks for prolonged periods of time, for at least eight hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach, push, pull, carry, and lift at least 40 pounds; ability to move furniture.
  • Ability to withstand continuous repetitive motions.
  • Minimum of 1 year in the service industry.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations.

  • Is extremely well-versed in all restaurant offerings, regardless of menu changes. Recommends items based on the member’s preferences.
  • Manages inventory and is responsible for stock rotation.
  • Has complete knowledge of all standards, procedures, products.
  • Greets guests promptly, using member recognition and name usage whenever possible. Creates a personalized experience for members based on personal preferences.
  • Is extremely well-versed in all restaurant offerings, regardless of menu changes. Recommends items based on member preferences.
  • Takes drink and food orders, answering all questions about the menu, ingredients, cooking methods, and asking for special dietary requests from diners.
  • Maintains an exceptional tabletop. Coordinates with other staff members to ensure trips to the table are as efficient and non-repetitive as possible.
  • Ensures members in their section are checked on regularly throughout the experience to ensure they always have what they need.
  • Is extremely thorough. Ensures guests receive everything in a timely manner, fires courses to ensure gaps between courses are not too lengthy, and ensures checks are accurate.
  • Serves as a liaison between the FOH and BOH.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly service station.
  • Communicates the needs of members to the kitchen and management. Informs management of any member feedback.
  • Assists support staff in keeping side stations stocked with mise en place.
  • Stocks side stations and maintains appropriate pars of silverware, glassware, napkins, share plates, and marking trays throughout service.
  • Maintains the overall cleanliness of the dining room. Checks chairs, tables, underneath tables, side stations, etc.
  • Complies with food and beverage regulations.
  • Commit to continual improvement in all areas of the operation.
  • Adheres to guidelines and policies outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Follow all Club and department policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support a safe work environment and assist with other tasks as assigned.
  • Performs any other duties assigned.
