The Pool Operator is responsible for knowing, abiding by, and enforcing all guidelines of the Aquatic Department as well as the Association. This role involves completing all necessary documentation during shifts, including hourly readings of sanitizer, pH, water and air temperature, rate of flow, pressure differential, facility usage, filling out manager logs for appropriate shifts, and submitting accident and/or incident reports. The Pool Operator is also responsible for maintaining the facility at an inspection-ready status in accordance with state and county commercial pool operation regulations during their shift. They will supervise the delivery of equipment and chemicals if it occurs on their assigned shift. Ensuring excellent public relations with YMCA members, department staff, and other branch employees is also a key aspect of the job. Furthermore, the Pool Operator is responsible for ensuring the entire Department is secure, according to written guidelines, when the branch closes at night, and for maintaining the health and safety of members and their guests during their shift. Other duties may be required.
