About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Recreation Manager, plans, organizes, directs and controls the day-to-day activities and operations of the Municipal Swimming Pool; performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum one-year experience in a supervisory role in a municipal pool environment required.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in money handling.
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certificate or equivalent.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid for the professional rescuer certificate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Pool Staff, the pool, and all related facilities.
  • Recruits, assists in the selection, and assigns pool personnel.
  • Assists in developing, and as required, conducting in-service training programs for pool personnel.
  • Establishes and maintains emergency standard operating procedures and practice schedules for adherence thereto and trains staff in implementation of these emergency procedures.
  • Maintains proper water quality, cleanliness, and safety of the pool area.
  • Collects pool fees and balances deposit daily.
  • Informs supervisor of changes, problems, or needed innovations.
  • Assists in the establishment, preparation, distribution, and enforcement of rules and regulations of the pool.
  • Keeps records of attendance, maintenance and other administrative matters required by supervisor.
  • Handles reservations, emails, calls, and general inquiries of pool related facilities, programs, and usage.
  • Handles all grievances of staff members and informs immediate supervisor.
  • Handles all grievances and/or discipline cases involving patrons of the pool and informs immediate supervisor.
  • Evaluates performance of staff personnel.
