About The Position

Calling all aquatic ambassadors! We have a mission to teach kids how to swim and be safer in and around the water — and we need experienced aquatic professionals to help make that happen. At Goldfish Swim School Yonkers, you’ll play a key role in providing children and families with essential life skills while delivering a GOLDEN experience. Whether you're leading swim instruction or overseeing safety on the pool deck, your experience in aquatic environments will help young swimmers thrive. Requirements

  • Aquatics experience required (e.g., lifeguarding, swim team, swim instruction, water safety, competitive swimming, or similar)
  • Weekend availability required
  • strong ability to work with children in an energetic, supportive, and safety-focused environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must pass background checks (provided as part of training)
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must complete certification courses within 3 months of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, swim instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is a plus
  • Some college preferred
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications encouraged (training provided and rewarded with pay increases)

Responsibilities

  • Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe aquatic environment
  • Evaluates students’ progress and completes documentation accurately and promptly
  • Engages with parents/guardians after each lesson to discuss swimmer development
  • Identifies and addresses student challenges using problem-solving and creativity
  • Assists with pool setup and cleanup, including storing equipment properly
  • Participates in required workshops and in-service training
