About The Position
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: The Pool Attendant is responsible for guest satisfaction in the pool area providing and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service.
Requirements
- Prior guest service experience required, preferably in hotels
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers, with the ability to answer guest questions and describe menu items.
- Must be able to speak with enthusiasm and be comfortable talking and interacting with guests in a pool environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast paced environment
- Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work outdoors throughout entire shift.
- Must be available to work from April through September.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting. Lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 30 lbs
- Push/pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs without assistance.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, specifically weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of pool facility.
- Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of pool equipment.
- Maintain bathrooms and restock supplies as needed.
- Ensure all beverages, linens and towels are always clean, prepared and well stocked.
- Be actively engaged with our guests. Identify the needs of our guests and meet these needs, aiming to exceed expectations at every opportunity.
