About The Position

Discover Tahiti Village Resort & Spa, an island-inspired oasis. Guests can also pamper themselves at the Mahana Spa or grab a bite and drinks at 17° South Booze & Bites featuring limited gaming. ROLE: To oversee the aquatics operation for the resort as well as assisting with recreation programming. Works with multiple departments to ensure guest experience is positive and improving.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years in a supervisory role in a recreation setting or similar field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in pool operations
  • 1-2 years’ experience in recreation programming or working with youth

Responsibilities

  • Assist with employee tasks including hiring, training, coaching, discipline, termination, and documentation.
  • Conduct audits to ensure policies/procedures are within department and hotel guidelines.
  • Responsible for scheduling. Ensuring all shifts are covered and within budget.
  • Participate in creating, revising, and implementing new policies and procedures for departments.
  • Participate in property committees.
  • Responsible for processing payroll within the company guidelines.
  • Review comment cards, creating responses to provide manager. Monitor cards to determine trends.
  • Monitor and maintain logs to ensure all proper certifications are current for aquatics and activity staff in relation to Southern Nevada Health District.
  • Partners with engineering department to ensure pool chemicals are balanced and within the SNHD regulations.
  • Responsible for closing, opening, and monitoring pools impacted by weather, biohazard, or anything that impacts guest and staff safety.
  • Oversees Skill of the Week, holds supervisor accountable for ensuring skills are signed off by leads
  • Communicates to department head on repairs, damage, and areas of concern at pool areas.
  • Assists with all emergency responses.
  • Monitor monthly budget and costs associated with activities.
  • Participate in yearly budgeting.
  • Responsible for ordering, inventory, and staying within monthly budget.
