Pollard Park Facility Manager (Part-Time Seasonal)
About The Position
The Pollard Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining five (5) baseball fields and four (4) soccer fields for hosting in-house programming and for outside organization rentals; This position is a crucial part of the Township's seasonal sports programs and will be tasked with: maintenance, preparation, and set-up of the nine playing (9) fields, as well as upkeep of park bathroom facilities & grounds; oversees programming setup; manages onsite field rentals; performs other related duties, as assigned. Job Type: Part-Time Seasonal (potential for up to 40 hours per week available) Schedule: Must be available to work flexible day, evening & weekend hours beginning March through October
Requirements
- Must be available to work flexible day, evening, and weekend hours for the season, March through October.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid Michigan Drivers' License and an insured vehicle.
- Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment screening.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Ability to occasionally transport and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
- Ability to perceive depth, color, and details of measurement.
- Frequently uses various equipment to shovel, rake, sweep, mop.
- Frequently positions self to install bases, soccer nets, and equipment.
- Frequent movement and use of limbs.
- Frequently operates motorized vehicle and equipment.
- Performs work in various field conditions including, but not limited to: unpaved sites, slippery sites, uneven terrain, mud, as well as regular exposure to outside weather conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
- Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- May be exposed to: wastewater; garbage; dust/smoke/fumes/odors/grease/oil; noise.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in facility maintenance or event set-up preferred.
- Experience with baseball leagues preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance and preparation of baseball diamonds, including dragging, chalking, and setting bases daily utilizing published schedules.
- Performs routine maintenance and preparation of soccer fields, hole filling, striping, and weed maintenance.
- Sets up facilities and equipment for programming and events.
- Cleans and keeps bathroom facilities and grounds debris-free before , during, and after scheduled games.
- Oversees onsite field rentals and in-house programming, including weekend tournaments.
- Oversees on-site operations and schedules of in-house programming.
- Collaborates with Parks, Recreation, and Senior Services Department staff for reporting and support.
- Performs other duties as directed
