About The Position

The Opportunity: Collaborate with mission partners on projects related to Security Cooperation and defense policy. Research, develop, analyze, assess, plan, and support deliverables in a Service headquarters in achieving policy objectives. Oversee a portfolio of Security Cooperation issues and engage with mission partners, internal and external stakeholders, and interagency representatives to advance Service interests. Coordinate with the Office of the Secretary of War, Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA), the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), the Joint Staff, Geographic Combatant Commands, Service Components and organizations, and the Interagency, as required, on all aspects of Security Cooperation policy. Apply advanced skills, expertise, and knowledge of military action officer processes to achieve mission partner objectives. Employ initiative to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without close supervision in managing and developing deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Cooperation or Defense policy roles
  • 5+ years of experience with formal DoD or DoW staffing and coordination processes
  • 1+ years of experience working with GO or SES-level leadership
  • Ability to be self-motivated and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an Action Officer within DoD or DoW or a military Service organization
  • Knowledge of the Enterprise Task Management System 2 (ETMS2)
  • Master’s degree
  • Completion of Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) training
