About The Position

Under direction, performs protective work participating in and supervising a Staff of police and security officers; maintains considerable responsibility in planning and directing security operations shift. Trains and supervises subordinate personnel; conducts safety and security inspections, identifies potential safety and security problem areas and provides corrective advice. Ensures all directives, new instructions, and general information form the Director is communicated to all shift personnel; and performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, BS preferred.
  • Three years of experience preferred as a sworn law enforcement officer.
  • A North Carolina driver's license and the North Carolina Department of Justice, Division of Standards and Training, Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification is required.
  • Communication skills such as active listening, critical thinking and the ability to convey information verbally and in writing are required.
  • Reading and writing skills are required for the documentation of events and daily reports.
  • Experience in the use of a computer with business and medical related software preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of police administration including staff, finances, equipment management and maintenance; effectively operate a variety of communications equipment; and security alarm systems.

  • Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, volunteers, medical staff, and the general public by responding to emergency situations, supervising police and security personnel, and maintaining law and order.
