About The Position

Assist the Police Department supporting the front desk reception area, assisting customers and general office duties. Cal Poly Maritime Academy is a campus of the California State University and is the only degree-granting maritime academy on the West Coast. Located on the scenic Vallejo waterfront, the campus serves a student population of approximately 1000 undergraduates and 50 graduate students. Cal Poly Maritime Academy offers seven baccalaureate degrees in Business Administration, International Strategy and Security, Facilities Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Transportation, and Oceanography. The undergraduate curriculum includes licensing programs for future merchant marine, coast guard, and naval reserve officers. Cal Maritime also offers a Master of Science in Transportation and Engineering Management degree, as well as a number of extended learning programs and courses.

  • Must be able to perform work involving but not limited to carrying, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking to and from buildings across campus.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must successfully complete CLETS training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and ensure excellent customer service to the university’s community and the public at the front desk, receive and direct visitors; resolve inquiries regarding parking and other matters; and screen and route phone calls.
  • Perform general office duties, including receiving and distributing mail, making copies, faxing, and filing, maintaining office supplies, files, reports, and forms.
  • Delivers parking permits for all department requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
