About The Position

The Poker Room Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of the Poker Room. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional guest experience, while fostering a high-performing team aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and values. The Poker Room Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue, maintaining game integrity, and creating an engaging and professional environment for both guests and team members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of poker room management experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate state occupational license.
  • Strong knowledge of poker room operations, concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in employee relations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-noise casino environment.
  • Ability to observe and monitor gaming activity for extended periods with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and navigate throughout the gaming floor as needed.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to operational or guest situations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs all daily activities and employees in the poker room.
  • Maintains integrity and security of all games, company assets, and staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining the types of games being played, including limits and buy-ins.
  • Accountable for achieving Poker Room revenue targets through effective game mix, table utilization, and player engagement strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with all state gaming regulations, procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensures the highest level of customer service for guests and staff.
  • Oversees employee lifecycle activities, including recruiting, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Manages labor costs by optimizing staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and overtime control in alignment with budgeted targets.
  • Collaborates with Finance and Marketing to forecast revenue, support promotional strategies, and evaluate the financial impact of tournaments and special events.
  • Ensures strict adherence to internal controls related to cash, chips, and gaming transactions to mitigate financial risk and protect company assets.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains procedures for all Poker Room operations and positions.
  • Provides resolution to employee and customer-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Evaluates employee performance and takes corrective action as required, consistent with company policy.
  • Utilizes surveillance systems to monitor gameplay, dealer performance, and adherence to procedures.
  • Takes appropriate action to address and resolve suspicious or non-compliant activities.
  • Collaborates with departments such as Security, Surveillance, Compliance, and F&B to ensure seamless operations.
  • Drives initiatives to increase poker room traffic, guest retention, and revenue performance.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
