About The Position

The Ageless Warrior Lab is a new weekly podcast hosted by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and “BJJ Dirty Dozen” member Dave Meyer. Drawing from a lifetime in martial arts and business, Dave explores how principles from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the martial arts apply to your life, success in business, and long-term health. Dave Meyer is a pioneer in BJJ, the first American to medal at black belt in a BJJ World Championship, author, coach, curriculum creator, and plant-based animal welfare advocate. He has won multiple BJJ world championships, and also has founded animal welfare nonprofits including the Adopt–a-Pet.com website. He has raised and deployed over $150 million in philanthropic capital and is considered a leader in the martial arts, animal welfare, and alternative proteins movements. At age 63, he still competes and wins in BJJ and brings deep insight, integrity, and impact to every episode. We’re looking for a versatile and self-directed Podcast Editor/Producer with both technical production and marketing skills to help grow this podcast into a professional and influential platform.

Requirements

  • Strong editing and podcast-relevant technical skills
  • Fluent in digital tools and workflows for podcast production and promotion. We currently use Descript, Squadcast for remote interviews, Buzzsprout for audio distribution, Google Drive for sharing of files, Asana for managing workflow, and Slack for ad hoc communications.
  • Comfortable working solo and wearing many hats in a startup-style environment
  • Self-motivated and organized with a “figure it out and make it happen” attitude
  • Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for personal growth, martial arts, fitness, animal welfare, plant-based eating, wellness, or storytelling is a plus!
  • Bonus: experience supporting a thought leader or personal brand

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on technical studio setup where needed (cameras, sound, lighting, etc)
  • Be physically present at remote interviews to set up recording with two iphone cameras, DJI clip-on mics (or other equipment).
  • Manage timelines, publishing schedule, and episode workflows
  • Edit video version for YouTube to a professional standard (e.g., cutting dead space, adding overlays/intros) under style guidance from Dave
  • Edit podcast audio version for pacing, polish, and clarity
  • Add bumper music, transitions, and branding elements as needed
  • Provide episode name and graphically designed thumbnail suggestions to Dave to approve.
  • Write compelling show notes, and descriptions
  • Upload and distribute full episodes to podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple, etc.) and YouTube
  • Update website with new shows (we currently use Manus which is a new AI-driven website platform that makes this very easy)
  • Manage paid promotion (e.g., Meta ads, YouTube ads) and allocate small test budgets effectively
  • Track analytics across podcast and social platforms
  • Spot trends, suggest experiments, and optimize for growth
