Reporting to the Dean of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor represents and presents Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) undergraduate academic programs to prospective students, families, educators, and counselors regionally and nationally. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds, and to engage appropriately in settings ranging from large group presentations to individual appointments. Admissions Counselors are responsible for recruiting talented undergraduate students; managing admissions files; and reviewing completed applications for admission to PNCA undergraduate programs. Counselors attend local, state, and national recruitment events, including college fairs and National Portfolio Days, and assist in the planning and execution of on- and off-campus admissions events. Successful candidates must be able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong written, editing, and computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, admissions databases, and iOS platforms. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and mobile presentation tools is a plus. This position requires extensive and frequent travel during fall and spring recruitment cycles, as well as some evening and weekend work. Admissions Counselors must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the visual arts.
