Oliver Wyman - PMO Manager

About The Position

As part of its continued evolution, Oliver Wyman is delivering a multi-year, firmwide transformation to embed advanced digital and technology-enabled capabilities into how the firm operates and delivers value. This enterprise-wide initiative spans product development, technology convergence, activation and change, communications, and regional execution across teams and geographies. We are seeking a PMO Manager to lead program management and governance for one of Oliver Wyman’s most significant internal transformation initiatives. This is a complex, enterprise-scale program operating in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment, requiring strong judgment, structure, and leadership. In this role, you will act as the central integrator across multiple workstreams, developing a deep understanding of how initiatives interlock and how risks, dependencies, and trade-offs affect overall outcomes. You will be expected to operate independently, anticipate issues early, and provide challenge and perspective — not simply coordinate activity. The role spans the full seniority spectrum, from hands-on analytical execution to peer-level engagement with senior leaders. You will support high-stakes decision-making, shape governance forums, and help ensure that leadership conversations are focused on the right priorities at the right time. The work involves evolving priorities, open-ended deliverables, and complex stakeholder dynamics, reflecting both the pace of technological change and its implications for how a global consulting firm operates. You will act as a role model for program excellence and help shape best practices for large-scale transformation delivery. On a strong day, you bring clarity to complexity, reframing fragmented inputs into decision-ready views, surfacing risks early enough to change outcomes, or helping senior stakeholders align on priorities and trade-offs. Your work will directly influence not just whether the program stays on track, but the quality of the decisions that guide it. This is a hybrid role that requires a presence in the office 3 days per week. There is no option to be fully remote.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in program, project, or product management roles, ideally within professional services, technology transformation, or enterprise change environments
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-workstream programs involving senior stakeholders and significant ambiguity
  • Strong experience in program governance, planning, risk management, and stakeholder management, including operating as a peer to senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations for executive discussion and decision-making
  • Expertise in project and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, hybrid, Waterfall), with the judgement to apply them pragmatically rather than by the book
  • Intellectual curiosity, a learning mindset, and personal adaptability are baseline expectations at Oliver Wyman and will be assessed through interviews and practical discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end governance and execution of a major firmwide transformation, integrating progress across product delivery, technology builds, activation and change, communications, and regional initiatives
  • Own program planning, critical path, and dependency management, proactively identifying delivery risks, resourcing constraints, and decision points, and driving timely resolution
  • Prepare and lead senior stakeholder forums (e.g., steering committees and executive touchpoints), including agenda setting, synthesis of insights, framing of decisions, and articulation of trade-offs
  • Act as a thought partner and constructive challenger to workstream leads and senior sponsors, testing feasibility, prioritization, sequencing, and alignment with overall program objectives
  • Ensure high standards of transparency and reporting, translating complex delivery signals into concise, decision-ready views for leadership
  • Manage and mentor PMO resources, fostering consistency, rigor, and professional development across the PMO function
  • Continuously evolve PMO ways of working, adapting governance, cadence, and tooling to suit a fast-changing transformation context and keeping processes fit-for-purpose rather than over-engineered

  • tuition assistance
  • 401K savings and other retirement programs
