What You Drive at DTNA General Purpose of the Position: Team members use a variety of tools and equipment to paint or apply other coatings to various product lines both new and reman.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
  • Years of Experience: 0
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions and diagrams, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects in close working proximity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical experience
  • Previous painting experience
  • Prior experience with bondo/humiseal preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all products prior to producing specific finishes
  • Ensure the quality of paints and thinners
  • Complete miscellaneous related assignments such as masking, wrapping, etc.
  • Clean and maintain all paint room apparatus
  • Inventory management of paint supplies
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test
  • Interpret work orders, production routers, BOM, product manuals and/ or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Understand and adhere to all health and safety precautions associated with the paint booth.
  • Knowledge of ESD handling procedures.
  • Understand and comply with ISO9001 requirements.
  • Operate spray gun painting equipment used in the application of coatings.
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color and texture.
  • Utilize safety features and understand the operating guidelines of the spray booth.
  • Mix and apply epoxy coatings to multiple product lines.
  • Mix and fabricate silicone products.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools to perform assembly functions (ex. Screw drivers, measuring devices, adjustable end wrench, hand sanders.
  • Demonstrate competence in painting and applying various coatings to the specified standard.
  • Must be willing to shift workload to different products as needed.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects during the same shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime periods including weekends to meet production demands.
  • Participation in team huddles, group projects and one on one communications.
  • Other tasks and/or duties as requested
