About The Position

At Velociti, Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet, including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting, in areas such as offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public places like break rooms. This role requires adherence to safety rules, company policies, and procedures, maintaining a clean work area, and professional communication with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers. The technician is expected to be a team player, support the shift lead, use proper personal protective equipment, and present a professional appearance, all while ensuring a solid commitment to the guest experience and prioritizing safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education
• Minimum 1 year experience in floor care
• Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance
• Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers
• Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills

Nice To Haves

• Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees

• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment before use
• Secure the work area and post safety notices for other space users before beginning work
• Perform floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
• Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
• Perform wall cleaning
• Perform dusting (high and low)
• Perform routine restroom cleaning
• Perform routine office and break room cleaning
• Perform maintenance of floor care equipment
