About The Position

Rescue Rooter, part of a national service leader, is seeking an experienced Plumbing Service Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a great work ethic and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The role involves diagnosing plumbing issues, presenting solutions to customers, performing installations and repairs, and maintaining clean, code-compliant workmanship. Technicians will use field management software to build estimates and document work, and are expected to be reliable, friendly, and tidy in every home they enter.

Requirements

  • Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for a High School diploma or GED
  • 4 years of residential service plumbing experience (not just new construction or commercial)
  • Strong communications/interpersonal skills
  • Confidence presenting options (not high-pressure sales—just service-based clarity)
  • Ability to follow systems, processes, and checklists
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in tight areas
  • A customer-first mindset and team-player attitude
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides a description of diagnosed problems to customers and provides solutions
  • Explains the features and benefits of each solution and obtains agreement for services before performing work
  • Diagnose plumbing issues quickly and thoroughly
  • Confidently present multiple repair or replacement options using our process
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners
  • Install and repair water heaters, faucets, toilets, tubs, sinks, garbage disposals, gas lines, and piping systems (DWV, copper, PEX, etc.)
  • Maintains clean, code-compliant workmanship
  • Use our field management software to build estimates and document work
  • Be reliable, friendly, and tidy in every home you enter
  • Maintains and fuels vehicle, stocks the service truck with adequate parts and maintains machinery
  • Transports materials and tools to the job site and provides proper accounting of tools
  • Have the basic knowledge of how a plumbing system works
