About The Position

Join the Heritage Home Service team as the Plumbing Permit Technician at our Wilmington, MA location The Plumbing Permit Technician (PT) is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of permits across all trades. This includes pulling permits, coordinating inspections, and ensuring timely closures. The PT plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with municipal regulations and protecting the company’s ability to operate in all service areas.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Plumbing License (Required )
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with municipal permitting processes is a plus
  • Experience with Service Titan or similar job management software is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pull and close permits for all jobs requiring them, regardless of trade
  • Coordinate with municipalities to schedule inspections and finalize permit closures
  • Attend inspections on-site when required to meet with inspectors and review scopes of work
  • Prioritize recent installations and municipalities with high volumes of open permits
  • Focus efforts geographically to reduce and eliminate permit backlog
  • Self-dispatch to 3–5 inspection appointments per day
  • Maintain accurate records and provide: Weekly email reports of all closed permits Updated permit backlog tracker with written summaries and Excel documentation
  • Communicate any additional support needs to meet daily closure goals
  • Update job summaries in Service Titan with inspection outcomes, issues, or trends
