This approach melds valuable lessons of years of experience with a systematic progression for diagnostics. Theory is taught in relation to the technician’s viewpoint. Service technicians learn theory by hearing, seeing, and then doing. The Total Tech experience encompasses all facets of this learning paradigm.

Responsibilities

Develops and presents specific lesson plans, using a variety of techniques, including lectures, projects, exhibits, audiovisual, computers, and the internet.
Prepares assignments and assessments for in-class preparation and homework.
Deliver technical trade training curriculum, centered on the established basics of the assigned trade.
Maintains and enriches own technical knowledge by reading journals and manuals, specialized reports, occupational safety newsletters, and trade magazines.
Teach and demonstrate effective principles, procedures or methods, to include class work, hands-on training, and exams.
Teach and demonstrate safe, approved methods to use hand and power tools, and other industry-related equipment required for the trade.
Monitors, assists, corrects, and grades student performance and subject competency.
Verify student competencies, reviewing progress and assessing performance.
Maintains order in classroom, and, in conjunction with administrative staff, administers counseling/discipline when necessary to achieve proper conduct and decorum is maintained.
Keeps records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation.
Works with school administration and other educational staff in assisting students with any evidence of learning disabilities or social adjustment challenges.
Train, coach and mentor students in the best practices of the assigned trade.
Investigate any reported safety issues.
Resolve any issues involving missing and/or damaged tools and any equipment malfunction.
Communicate the value of trade knowledge and trade certification.
Willing to continue training for personal growth as well as participating in the training of employees.
Willing to work hours outside of normal work schedule, if needed.
Available for support to the team or students by phone (as needed 24/7).
Maintain confidentiality of student/employee performance issues and concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
