Job Summary: The Plumbing Engineer will provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of plumbing systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years design experience
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • LEED certification/experience is a plus, CPD is preferred
  • Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing systems including medical/laboratory piping and gases
  • Design performance specification fire protection systems
  • Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
  • Prepare detailed design documents
  • Write/edit project specifications
  • Be responsible for code compliance research
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines
  • Work on site surveys to determine and document existing conditions
  • Provide construction administration services
