Our apprenticeship program is the best way for someone with no plumbing experience to become a part of our company. Anyone who can handle a physically demanding job, is eager to learn, and shares our core values will be considered for the role. Apprentices are vital to the ongoing growth of our company. While benefiting from world-class training, they help our licensed techs move quickly through jobs. They have a powerful effect on company culture and morale, and they should strive to use that influence to improve the performance of the entire team. Apprentices that excel in the role are sponsored to take their state exam and acquire their Limited Licensed Plumber (LLP) License, unlocking a lucrative career here at Tennessee Standard as a licensed plumber. Compensation: $15/hour plus time and a half overtime. Schedule: roughly 9-10 hours/day, Monday - Friday (no weekends!)

Responsibilities

Show extreme attention and engagement in all company meetings and training sessions.
Be actively involved in cleaning the truck, re-stocking materials, and preparing for jobs at the shop each morning.
Assist techs with protecting surfaces and preparing tools/materials in homes and other jobsites after work is sold.
Facilitate the lead tech’s work by feeding him the tools and parts needed.
Ask a lot of questions to draw as much information as possible from the lead tech.
Take charge of keeping the work area clean and quickly get tools and materials back to the truck as the job is nearing completion.
As experience increases, begin completing more tasks alone and submitting points in the Tennessee Standard Apprentice app.
Take all safety precautions by utilizing all proper safety tools/equipment while performing your work (including safe driving practices).
Purpose to be positive energy for the team, staying upbeat and energized regardless of the obstacles or circumstances.
Work hard to gain the respect of lead techs, management, and fellow apprentices.
Master the knowledge and execution of all company processes, scripts, and protocol.
