About The Position

The Plumber supports a mission‑critical, 24/7 airport environment by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing systems and domestic water infrastructure across terminals, concourses, tunnels, and support areas. This role ensures safe, reliable, and code‑compliant operation of water distribution, drainage, and backflow prevention systems essential to public health and continuous airport operations. The plumber performs preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinates system shutdowns, executes compliance inspections, and documents all work in the CMMS. By safeguarding the airport’s plumbing infrastructure, this position helps maintain passenger comfort and uninterrupted facility performance.

Requirements

  • Active Georgia Journeyman Plumber license. (Required)
  • 5+ years of commercial, institutional, or mission-critical facility experience. (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of domestic water distribution, valves, piping systems, and plumbing controls.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms; Hexagon preferred.
  • Ability to obtain airport badging and pass background screening.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a safety-first mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Georgia Master Plumber license to support permitting and inspections. (Strongly Preferred)
  • State-approved Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days. (Strongly Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems and domestic water infrastructure across a 24/7 airport environment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair water distribution lines, drainage systems, fixtures, valves, pumps, and related components.
  • Maintain, test, and document backflow prevention devices in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Execute scheduled PM tasks and repairs in terminals, concourses, mechanical rooms, tunnels, and other facility areas.
  • Coordinate planned water shutdowns and service interruptions with operations and facility stakeholders.
  • Respond to plumbing emergencies, leaks, clogs, equipment failures, and system alarms to ensure uninterrupted airport operations.
  • Diagnose system issues and recommend corrective actions to restore safe and reliable plumbing performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities within the CMMS.
  • Ensure all plumbing work meets building codes, safety standards, and public health requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support continuous airport functionality.
  • Identify potential hazards, system deficiencies, or opportunities for improvement during routine inspections.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
  • Meet preventive maintenance and work order SLA targets.
  • Maintain plumbing system uptime and regulatory readiness.
  • Ensure backflow documentation is accurate and audit ready.
  • Reduce repeat failures through proper diagnosis and repair.
  • Support a strong safety culture with zero preventable incident.
