About The Position

The University of Mary Washington is seeking a Plumber/Steamfitter Supervisor to join its Facilities team. This role involves planning, scheduling, and prioritizing specific work assignments. The supervisor will be responsible for interpreting work orders, blueprints, or specifications, and for leading, assigning, and inspecting the work of other plumber-steamfitter personnel.

Requirements

Knowledge of building systems, including hot and cold water systems, sewer and stormwater systems, and mechanical equipment
Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., Virginia building codes and BCOM requirements)
Ability to lead and supervise a team of skilled trades staff in a facilities maintenance environment
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and other departments regarding maintenance needs and project status
Ability to carry tools and equipment to and from job site
Ability to work in confined spaces and from ladders and lifts
Extensive experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance
Must possess a valid Driver’s License to operate a University/state owned or leased vehicle
Plumber Journeyman's license
