Journeyman/Master Plumber (Career Path to Sales) We are seeking an experienced Journeyman or Master Plumber to join our growing team in a hands-on service role. This position is ideal for a skilled plumber who enjoys field work, customer interaction, and is interested in developing a long-term career path toward a Plumbing Sales/Estimator or Comfort Advisor role. This is a working position in the field, performing residential plumbing repairs, installations, and system evaluations while learning consultative selling skills and preparing for future advancement into a sales-focused position. Key Responsibilities Plumbing Service & Installation Perform residential plumbing service, repair, and installation work including: Water heaters (tank and tankless) Fixture replacements (faucets, toilets, sinks) Drain cleaning and sewer line repairs Pipe repairs and repiping projects Sump pumps, garbage disposals, and water treatment systems Diagnose plumbing issues and recommend safe, code-compliant solutions Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and company quality standards Maintain clean, organized job sites and professional workmanship Customer Communication & Solution-Based Recommendations Build trust with homeowners through clear communication and professionalism Educate customers on plumbing system conditions and available options Provide upfront recommendations and support proposal development Identify opportunities for upgrades and long-term solutions Career Development Toward Sales Participate in training to develop skills in: Estimating and quoting larger plumbing projects Consultative selling and customer presentations Product and system upgrade recommendations Work closely with sales and management teams to transition into a future sales role Support lead generation and customer follow-up for larger replacement opportunities Team & Operational Support Mentor apprentice or junior technicians as needed Accurately complete service documentation and job notes Maintain required tools, truck inventory, and safety compliance Attend training sessions and company meetings

Requirements

  • Active Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (state-specific)
  • Minimum 5+ years of residential plumbing experience (service preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and installation skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Able to work rotating on-call schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Experience presenting repair vs. replacement options to homeowners
  • Interest in moving into a sales or estimator role within 2–3 years
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience

Responsibilities
