About The Position

DynaTen (a Comfort Systems USA Company) has been successfully providing Commercial Service and Construction Solutions to the greater North Texas market. DynaTen is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to join our team! This is a critical position that will be highly visible in our operation. You will help execute our organization’s strategic goals, manage key customer relationships and mentor direct reports in their day-to-day responsibilities. Additionally, this is a position that offers professional leadership development and long-term career growth in service operations leadership and beyond. Position Summary As a plumbing apprentice, you will support commercial construction projects by installing plumbing systems and related materials.

Requirements

• 2 years of commercial plumbing experience preferred
• Current / valid apprentice license
• Willingness to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings
• Knowledge of basic and tools and ability to read a tape measure preferred
• OSHA 10-hour preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to perform routine measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work with fractions, percentages, and decimals.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude
• Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.
• Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
• Complies and promotes company Safety Policy
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to work overtime if needed (and approved)
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, climb, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
• Ability to pass MVR check
• Ability to pass a physical ability test
• Ability to travel, as needed, for projects
• Must have the ability to perform the duties above on commercial projects.
• This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, transporting tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area.
• Working exposed to the elements during all times of the year.
• All employees are required to always wear PPE and always follow Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial plumbing installation from underground/rough-ins, stack out to trim outs on large scale commercial and industrial construction projects such as, healthcare, government, educational, manufacturing, data centers and others.
• Install hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation for water, gas, compressed air, medical gas, or other liquids.
• Regular use of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure
• Assist with the installation of materials such as copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and other piping.
• Duties could include assisting with setting grease traps, decontamination tanks, oil interceptors, lint interceptors, utility hookups, etc.
• Able to work off ladders, man lifts and other equipment from various heights
• Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned
