About The Position

MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (chassis, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future. The PLM / CAD Engineering Co Op position involves the maintenance of the internal Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system for the CAD organization, creating structured organization plans, understanding project status and customer requirements, familiarizing with PLM systems for optimization, and collaborating with local and Korea-based teams on product/system focus areas like Automotive ICS and Center Display.

Requirements

  • Functional knowledge of Windows (10+) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of CAD functions, including creating sections, taking measurements, translating components, and viewing drawings.
  • Strong notation skills, including capturing VoC, documenting meeting minutes, and communicating clearly and effectively.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be reliable (with reliable mode of transportation.)
  • Demonstrated completion of at least one CAD course.
  • Relevant coursework or experience supporting PLM, CAD, or engineering data management.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD course with a focus on SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of internal PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system for the CAD organization.
  • Create structured organization plans including access management, customer and project organization, and follow-up requirements.
  • Work with team members to understand pre-development, ongoing, and post-launch project status, and gather information related to internal and external customer functionality requirements.
  • Familiarize with internal and external customer PLM systems, identify optimizations, and create opportunities for expanded functionality and usage.
  • Work and communicate with local customers, local team members, and research engineers from Korea and/or in Korea.
  • Consult with the Expatriate Coordinator to enhance communication with R&D HQ.
  • Tasks relating to other areas will be assigned as required.
