Electrical technician's job description includes: Installation : Installing wiring, conduit systems, motor control centers and switchgear. Maintenance : Performing preventative maintenance inspections and maintaining forge equipment and machinery. Troubleshooting : Troubleshooting and replacing electrical components. Strong motor controls and basic PLC. VFD and DC drives up to 3000 HP. Hydraulic controls and valves. Testing : Testing electrical components using multimeter, megger, oscilloscope, etc. Repair : Repairing or replacing wiring, conduits, controls, motors, transducers. Compliance : Following local, state, and National Electric Code for 24 volts to 4160 volts. Safety : Lockout Tag out, manlifts, confine space, Arc Flash and forklifts. PLC Technicians: Install and repair industrial electronic equipment (including Rockwell PLC5, slc500 and Logixs5000, input/output networks, data highway+, variable speed drives, and process control equipment). Control equipment includes hydraulic controls, transducers and digital switches. Able to read or write PLC programs for a wide variety of automated control systems, ranging from simple on-off controls to robotics. Software includes Rslinxs, PLC5, PLC500, Factory Talk View-HMI and Logixs5000.
