About The Position

Join our Snacks plant in Rome, GA as a PLC Electrical Technician. This is an on-site position, working night shift Wednesday – Saturday working 10 hours a night (5:00 pm – 3:00 am), four days a week with flexibility. The pay for this position is $43.01 per hour. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying and preventing issues in the plant environment. The safety of our employees and products is paramount, and as a PLC Electrical Technician, you’ll help us achieve our safety goals by proactively addressing issues or concerns. You’ll also share your knowledge of safety rules and regulatory compliance with your colleagues, making the workplace safer and more productive.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the principles of electricity and electronics.
  • Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship or 8000 hours of practical experience and training in this area, or a 2-year Associate Degree in electrical/electrical technology, or 4 years electrical experience in a heavy industrial environment, or Journeyman status from a recognized state department of labor or US Department of Labor program.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC programs and hardware.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley RS Logix software and HMI control.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic/mechanical drawings, prints, schematics, and computer programs.
  • Ability to operate and interpret all types of electrical test equipment and troubleshoot and repair all types of electrical/electronic circuits and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Safety Compliance – Comply with employee safety policies, GMP, OSHA Safety and Health rules, and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining Equipment – Install and maintain all electrical and electronic plant and production equipment, including motors, controls, PLCs, AC/DC drives, and computerized controls.
  • Troubleshooting – Minimize downtime by fast and accurate troubleshooting of PLC programs and electrical/electronic circuits and equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance – Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on plant and production electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Consulting on Controls – Serve as an electrical/electronic controls consultant with the installation of new equipment and existing equipment.
