About The Position

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an endorsement in Elementary or Secondary Education
Tennessee Teaching License (current)
Successful school-level experience
Three years of successful teaching experience or equivalent
Effective decision-making and verbal/written communication skills
Displays interpersonal skills
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

Works as part of the leadership team with the building principal.
Provides assistance in conducting needs assessment strategies and program evaluation.
Identifies, plans, organizes, and conducts professional development opportunities relevant to school needs; researches, identifies, and models best practices.
Coaches, supports and mentors classroom teachers.
Works with teachers individually, in collaborative teams, and/or with departments, providing practical support on a full range of instructional strategies.
Conducts regular meetings with classroom teachers to examine student work and monitor progress in order to support teacher reflection and action.
Works closely with building level leadership team in the development and implementation of professional learning communities and sustains the change process required to operate
Collects, organizes, and completes information necessary for reports and evaluations.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members.
Have a deep understanding of best practices for teaching.
Knowledgeable about formative and diagnostic assessments and research-based instructional practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
