About The Position

The Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) is seeking a full-time Playschool Lead Teacher to join our Youth Programs team. This lead will drive our educational programs for two-year old children. The shift for this position is Mon-Fri from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Under the supervision of our Youth Programs Manager, this teacher will be responsible for crafting and executing age-appropriate curricula that cater to each child's holistic development. Additionally, they will provide mentorship and guidance to assistant teachers, ensuring a seamless learning experience for all.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in early childhood education or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect training (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in business correspondence and customer service interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Adhere to and enforce club safety policies, actively participating in relevant training sessions.
  • Provide assistance and support to parents and guardians regarding Playschool inquiries.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Lead engaging classes for up to 21 children, fostering a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Develop and implement weekly curricula that promote physical, mental, and social growth.
  • Cultivate a warm, inviting classroom atmosphere through organization and cleanliness.
  • Communicate regularly with parents via newsletters and social media updates.
  • Conduct parent meetings to discuss children's progress and address individual needs.
  • Demonstrate attentiveness to children's emotional and developmental well-being.
  • Coordinate and participate in special events such as Open House and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and implement effective behavior management techniques.
  • Maintain accurate budget records for classroom supplies.
