About The Position

This part-time seasonal position is responsible for supervising playground participants and providing a safe and fun experience for them. This program runs for 8 weeks from early June to August. Working hours will vary Monday-Friday from 8:45am-1:15pm and may include additional hours for ongoing training/development throughout the week as needed. Select mandatory training schedule will be provided by the program manager.

Requirements

• Participation in large group extracurricular activities.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Knowledge of various recreational games and activities.
• Possesses good leadership, communication, and social skills.
• Communicate effectively with participants and parents.
• Give clear and concise instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Enrolled in a secondary education program for Education, Park and Rec, or related field.
• 1-year supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured games, activities, and crafts independently and as part of a team.
• Assist with creating and planning new games and activities.
• Supervise daily activities to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
• Act as a leader and positive role model for participants.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean environment and keeping supplies organized and accounted for.
• Handle, document and communicate any minor behavioral and medical issues with Leader in Charge.
• Document and report major behavioral and medical issues to Leader in Charge/Youth Program Manager.
