About The Position

Platform Engineer (pTAL, TAL, TACL, HPE Nonstop, Enform, SQL) Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer on the HPE NonStop Connex Switch platforms, you will have a good understanding of Connex Switching systems, familiarity with HPE NonStop infrastructure, and a solid understanding of Debit Card Transaction processing within the Connex Switch application suite. You will champion best practices in data integrity, security, and performance optimization, ensuring business continuity across all Connex production and test environments. This team supports multiple changes each month which includes vetting change requests coming from partners, development, testing, and peer reviews and deployment. As a Platform Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
• At least 2 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
• At least 2 years of experience with AWS

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of experience with AWS
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Responsibilities

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
• Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
