This position is responsible for processing lithographic plates for the pressroom. This role serves as the critical quality check point to ensure more costly errors are not made in the other production departments. This position will report to the Pre-Press Manager.

Requirements

  • Operate and maintain imagesetter
  • Operate and maintain plate processor
  • Computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Inspects Prinergy VPS files for accuracy to production order (inks, layout, items).
  • RIPs, images, and inspects plates according to production order.
  • Ensures that correct color allocation reaches printing presses.
  • Stores plates on A-frame with job jackets/vinyls for distribution to pressroom.
  • Ensures materials needed for print production are delivered to the press along with plates.
  • Maintain daily logs to track errors and productivity.
  • Load unexposed printing plates in to imagesetter with as a team with coworker.
  • Remove and discard waste to disposal areas on a daily basis.
  • Monitors plateroom equipment & software to ensure peak performance.
  • Responsible for scheduling regular maintenance & repair.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Follow company safety requirements.
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations.
