About The Position

We’re more than just a print shop — we’re a full-service, family-run print-media solutions provider with sheetfed, web, large format and digital press capabilities, plus the largest bindery/finishing area in New England. We’re growing fast and looking for second shift skilled print professionals who are passionate about quality, precision, and craftsmanship. Job Summary: The Platemaker will prepare and produce high-quality plates that set the foundation for every flawless print run. Using your technical expertise and precision, you’ll create, inspect, and maintain printing plates that meet exacting customer specifications and pressroom standards.

Requirements

  • Experience with Fujifilm, Kodak, Creo, and/or Screen plate setters.
  • Sharp attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work 1st shift (8am-4pm) and open to overtime opportunities.
  • Basic computer literacy and mechanical aptitude.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 months of experience in prepress, platemaking, or related print industry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate computer-to-plate (CTP) equipment to produce high-quality printing plates for sheetfed and web offset printing presses.
  • Review digital files for accuracy before imaging.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot platemaking and processing equipment.
  • Inspect plates for defects and ensure alignment with job specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Prepress and Pressroom teams to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
